PBLWorld 2020 conference

About PBL World

Now in its ninth year, PBL World brings together more than 1,400 K-12 teachers, instructional coaches, and school and district administrators for three days of immersive workshops based on the PBLWorks model for Gold Standard PBL. Workshops are designed for educators who are ready to start their PBL journey, or who want to advance their practice.

PBL World is known for its highly collaborative environment. It attracts a vibrant community of educators, who engage in deep, focused work together.  The conference also offers thought-provoking keynotes from PBL leaders and student speakers.

About PBLWorks

PBLWorks (the brand name of the Buck Institute for Education) believes that all students – no matter where they live or what their background – should have access to quality Project Based Learning to deepen their learning and achieve success in college, career, and life. Our focus is on building the capacity of teachers to design and facilitate quality Project Based Learning, and on supporting school and system leaders in creating the conditions for these teachers to succeed with all students.

2020 - Coronavirus (COVID-19) impact - “PBL World 2020 Moves to New Online Format while Delivering Same Immersive 3-day PBL Experience”

The online conference brought all the elements of PBLWorks’ professional learning to attendees via digital connection and collaboration tools. Educators participated in an engaging, highly interactive Project Based Learning experience, and collaborated in virtual small and large group activities guided by PBLWorks’ expert National Faculty.

The change to an online format is a remarkably smooth one.

PBLWorld online format brings the same features that have made PBL workshops so effective. Led by expert National Faculty, these highly interactive workshops immerse you in Gold Standard PBL. Different format, same experience.

As a bonus, you also get strategies and tools to support online PBL for your students.

“I want to sincerely thank you both for the incredible training the last 3 days. Our district survey had the highest positive feedback I have ever seen in my 5 years in this role! The pacing, interaction, and quality content was exactly what these teachers needed to get started on their journey. I appreciate you taking the time to understand the district prior to the training and the key connections you made in the workshop. I am excited to see how the work rolls out and the impact this approach will have with our students!”
