PBL 201 Online Workshop
Improving the Quality of Student Work: An Overview
This online workshop deepens skills and knowledge for experienced PBL practitioners in four Gold Standard PBL teaching practices.
Prerequisite: PBL 101
In the three-day workshop, participants will investigate and deepen specific teaching
practices and strategies that can help to strengthen the quality of student work in a PBL classroom. They will develop and reflect on a high-quality project, and will plan for project implementation in order to improve student products and enhance learning. This PBL 201 Workshop focuses on four teaching practices of Gold Standard PBL: Align to Standards; Scaffold Student Learning: Engage & Coach; and Assess Student Learning.
What to Expect in Your Online Workshop
Plan for a highly interactive few days together! Over three consecutive days, participants will use Zoom to connect with the facilitator and each other. The workshop includes whole group work, learning circles to build connection and community, small group activities, peer collaboration and feedback, video analysis, reflection and critique, and individual learning — as well as a number of built-in break times. Each day is 6 hours with an additional hour for lunch. There will be activities that get participants out of their seats, opportunities to have fun with other participants, and independent time to work on project design.
